Momentum

Ballet Nebraska’s Momentum, presented February 11 and 12, 2011, was the company’s first program in the mixed-repertory format.

The company performed the program on Feb. 11 at the IWCC Arts Center in Council Bluffs, and Feb. 12 at Joslyn Art Museum’s Witherspoon Concert Hall. Students from area schools enjoyed preview performances of a shortened version of the program on Thursday, Feb. 10, and Friday, Feb. 11.

Joslyn collaboration:

Erika Overturff’s new ballet, Connemara, was the product of an innovative collaboration with Joslyn Art Museum. Museum guests and online visitors were invited to vote for one of three works in Joslyn’s permanent collection; the winning work became the inspiration for the new ballet.
